We went to the Japanese garden and Lower MacLeay trail. In the Japanese garden I found a lot of stuff like Koi fish and water striders. The only thing I am sad about is I couldn’t find a frog in the Japanese garden. Isn’t it silly that when a sign says there are frogs here but really there were no frogs there? Thats silly right?
Koi fish is the prettiest fish in the ocean and it could be as little as the marble I have. The Koi fish was in many colors like blue, orange and yellow. It brought its mouth all the way to the surface to breathe. Thats why it was so clear to see them. The Koi fish can eat lettuce, cocomelon (I call watermelon cocomelon because there is a baby show called cocomelon) and peas. The can be fed by hand. I will be freaked out by so many koi fish gathering around me. I will just put all the lettuce in the pond and run away. Thats what I would do.
The water striders can walk on water. They are able to walk on water because of their tiny little hairs called microhairs on the legs. The microhairs repel the water and helps the water striders to walk and the mouth eats the dead insects. I saw tons of water striders.

On the hiking trail we saw banana slug, owls and millipedes. Banana slug looked kinda like banana with black spots. I felt yucky stuff and slime when I saw it. I thought it would look pretty amazing on my hand. I took a leaf and picked it up on my hand. The owls were sitting on the branches of the tree. I felt so happy because I had never seen them before in a real forest. I had only seen them in the zoo before. I was sad that I didn’t seen any giant Salamander.

Portland is very nice. You should go there and see everything I saw. Portland also has some cool garbage trucks, cute little baby worms, sparrows, old fire trucks, old steam ship, and the Portland trams and the Portland trams and more Portland trams. It also has great views of the volcano Mt. Hood. Bye Bye Portland. I will miss you. I will miss everything in Portland.
